My life science experience
Life science Preferably Biology is the best thing that ever happened in my life. My friends at home said that I was a faggot for choosing the programme. this is also the first time I have ever been with a diverse group of people in class. Life Science allowed me to explore life beyond my knowledge and what i never imagined it to be. Last year I never thought that I would look through a microscope. It was a dream come true to see life from the micro level of organization to the macro and understand it. Life science opened many doors for me that i never thought the existed. I found interests such as new species that I recently knew about and would wish to study when i reach a professional level such as the koala bear and lemurs. The practicals are the most challenging and guiding classes that really interests students into finding the passion within biology. Moreover, with its passionate lectures. For instance, Dr Maryke Meerkoteer who is a dedicated lecture giving the students to explore and love biology. The was once a time during the practicals when we had to take a walk across a nature reserve and take samples of different plant behavior; the strength of smell, texture of leaves and the type of plant. I know how to perform my own experiments from precautions I learned in my practicals. For instance, during the practical examination i was able to successfully complete the section about looking for a plant cell. I know which field I want to Specialize in when I reach a professional level.
Math, the best module i came across ever because I walk it, I leave it and I feel it. Lectured by the funniest lecture in this university Mozart with fellow peer Nyika who make math more easier and interesting. They encouraged me to together with Thapelo the best maths student in my class and I am doing to make them proud. It is only know that I came across these guys that I realized the beauty within mathematics and now see no reason for failing it. The maths lectures allowed me to find my passion within math in helping others who are in need. I know realized that man have no limits and can archive any goal they set if they can believe that they are limitless. One other person who boosts me I Enrico Peterson who likes competing with me and I always beat him. For this reason, I am glad because the next day he comes back stronger and wants more. This is what I call never giving up and motivates me a lot.
Then follows ISC(introduction to science), a module that was introduced to destroy they life of students and preventing them for qualifying for the golden award. I have never came across a module this difficult. It also has boring sessions that I see no reason for them being introduced. For instance the LL session is like high school LO or a rehabilitation centre.
